Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Ranking
In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu one of the main organizations that governs the sport is the IBJJF or International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. While it is technically not the official global governing body it is one of the largest Most respected organizations that has been setting the standards for decades. As such we follow their guidelines with Regards to ranking.
All Candidates that have achieved 4 stripes per belt colour will be sent to test with WCBJJ Black Belt Don Whitefield and a decision will be made whether or not you will receive your next rank. Each Stripe takes a minimum of 6 months training AND 50 hours to receive.
Approximately every six months or so a ranking seminar will be held with Don at which point promotions will be handed out appropriately. But if you miss the seminar you will have to wait until the next time to receive any promotions regardless of testing.
